JT4 is hiring a Computer Scientist III-IV for their Edwards AFB located in California.

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Design, create, and maintain database systems utilizing some or all of the following database technologies: Oracle 11/12.
  • Design, create, and maintain software applications utilizing some or all of the following programming languages: C#, ASP, ASP.NET, HTML, XML, JavaScript, CSS, ADO.NET, SQL, PL/SQL and Visual Studio.
  • Advise team and project managers on technical problems.
  • Interact with customers and project managers on a regular basis.
  • Work independently of direct supervision on projects of high complexity.
  • Use judgment and initiative in developing complex analytical and computational technologies and methodologies for solving problems, which may be technically unique to the industry performed under minimum supervision with considerable latitude for independent contribution.
  • Interpret customer requirements and develop and analyze the most appropriate approach to solve technical problems.
  • Develop design of system/software and associated design documentation.
  • Prepare and conduct design reviews.
  • Implement design through software coding or hardware and appropriately document the design implementation.
  • Plan and execute unit, integration, and system testing.
  • Participate in maintenance and sustainment activities of system/software.
  • Provide work direction or other guidance to subordinate technical staff.
  • Establish and maintain positive customer relations.
  • May support pursuit of new business efforts, lead proposal efforts, and act as a technical consultant.
  • Follow the software and system engineering lifecycle processes and provide recommendations for improving the processes.
  • Provide recommendations for improvement to technology infrastructure.
  • Individual reports to an exempt onsite manager responsible for the IT Support Team operations.
  • There is occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal as well constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness.
  • Perform other job-related duties, as required.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in an associated discipline and at least 4 years of related experience or have a Master's Degree in an associated discipline and at least 2 years of experience, or a PhD in an associated discipline.
  • Knowledge and understanding usage of data links.
  • Must possess effective oral and written communication skills. 
  • Must have experience with computer-based systems and applications. 
  • Must have programming skills in languages used for job specific programming tasks, and familiarization with the application of industry standard hardware and software design and documentation techniques. 
  • Must have experience with systems engineering and software development lifecycles.
  • Must have a valid, current state driver's license.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must qualify for, maintain a government security clearance, and possess a valid, state issued driver's license.


 SALARY

The expected pay range for this position is $111,904 to $145,000 annually. SIGN-ON BONUS!

The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. JT4, LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
