Gomerman | Bourn & Associates is an established law firm with physical locations in San Francisco and San Jose and a presence across the state of California. We are currently looking for an Associate Attorney to join our Employment Law team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience as an attorney and have an interest in gaining trial experience. The ideal candidate will also have at least 2 years of experience as an attorney working specifically in the area of employment law. The expectation is that you will work remotely from your own home office anywhere in California, and travel for clients and cases as needed throughout the state. Previous experience in plaintiff side employment law is strongly preferred, and bilingual (English/Spanish) skills would be a definite plus.



The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and research skills, show initiative and proactive approach to cases, and will have successfully worked in a remote or hybrid environment. This position will require extensive discovery, client contact, research, writing, and courtroom exposure. This attorney will work alongside two managing attorneys, two associate attorneys, and a team of three paralegals.



Job Responsibilities:
Organizing and presenting arguments and counter-arguments on case files to managing attorneys.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, showcasing excellent communication and follow-up with clients on open cases.
Prepare cases for litigation by filing lawsuits, evaluating cases, completing discovery, writing and filing motions.
Work collaboratively with the employment law team.
Manage depositions and filing motions independently for case load.
Provide direction to supporting paralegals on tasks, and appropriately monitor case progress.
Assisting in trial preparation and at trial.


Job Qualifications:
Licensed to practice law in the state of California
3+ years of experience as an attorney
2+ years of experience as an attorney in employment law
Experience filing motions independently for assigned cases
Experience managing depositions independently for assigned cases
Professionalism
Litigation experience
Initiative and proactiveness
Thoroughness and high attention to detail


Total Compensation Package:
Annual compensation is dependent upon experience
Medical and dental benefits at 50% coverage for employee
401k options after one year of employment with firm 401k match per company policy
15 days PTO annually
7 paid holidays annually


Pay Transparency Salary Range: $100,000 - $200,000
