Litigation Secretary

Our boutique firm offers a diverse defense legal practice in the areas of personal injury, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, premises liability, professional liability, construction defect, and others. Our office is located near Lake Merritt, Oakland, and we seek an in-house (no remote) legal secretary with litigation experience. We are conveniently located just a few blocks from the 20th Street BART Station. The primary responsibilities of this position include working for 2-3 attorneys. Essential functions of this role include calendaring, scheduling depositions, filing and serving documents both state and federal, creating legal documents, saving documents in the document management system, as well as general secretarial support duties for your attorneys as needed, including trial prep and trial binders.
Responsibilities
Job Specifications/Requirements:
• High school diploma
• At least four (4) years of legal experience in civil litigation
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
• Ability to maintain and handle confidential information
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Salary Range
$70,000 - $80,000 /yr
