We are a large commercial glass union contractor with three offices in Northern California, currently seeking a qualified Accounts Payable Specialist/Payroll Clerk to join our stellar team. This role is in our HQ and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. You will be responsible for the following:

• You own the AP process internally (approx 75%) and assist on weekly Payrolls (25%)
• Review, route, and conduct routine data entry management for accounts payable and job cost billing records using construction accounting software.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial documents for payment, auditing, and tax purposes.
• Ensure invoices match PO's and other internal purchase documents
• Maintain payables for Calif Sales Tax and experience with out of state vendors
• Maintain meticulous AP records
• Direct interface with large and small vendors and reconciliation of vendor statements
• Direct interface with all Project Managers internally in multiple offices
• You will review invoices, credits and similar documents for accuracy
• Process employee expense reimbursements
• Process weekly AP check runs and payments
• Process new vendor credit applications

Extra points if you have been involved in a new ERP evaluation and implementation.

Education, Experience, and Abilities:

• Team player and positive attitude are essential
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college coursework is preferred.
• Minimum three years’ experience with all aspects of Accounts Payable is required.
• Minimum one year experience with construction accounting is strongly preferred.
• Some experience in payroll is helpful but not required
• High level of accuracy and efficiency with data entry into computer software and systems.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, set priorities, identify, and address problems, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to use accounting software to record, store, and produce financial data.
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to efficiently operate a 10-key calculator or equivalent and other related office equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures.
