Applicant must be local to the Bay Area. The position is not fully remote.
Opportunity for a psychology doctoral intern to receive supervised hours / training in a in health psychology clinic. The internship is full time.
Candidates must be completing a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) from a WASC accredited graduate program. You must able to qualify as a Registered Psychological Assistant.
Responsibilities:
Conduct client intake evaluations, treat adult patients with health problems, chronic pain and PTSD
Write progress reports by end of each week for all client sessions
Complete periodic psychological testing
Use CBT, Mindfulness, and biofeedback skills to improve the functioning of clients
Work with injured be workers recovering from surgery /injury
Take an interventional and practical approach within a brief treatment model
Make accurate and timely reports on all patient sessions
Be available to handle client calls on non-working hours
Knowledge of HIPAA, legal and ethical guidelines
Preferred skills:
Demonstrated knowledge of biofeedback
Interest in forensic or medical / legal aspects of psychology
Knowledge or training in pain psychology
Training in trauma treatment
Strong assessment and testing skills
Strong diagnostic skills
This internship includes weekly training and supervision.
