This position has full supervisory responsibility for approximately eighteen permanent nursing staff and several extra-help employees, including Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and Licensed Psychiatric Technicians in multiple programs and locations. The Supervising Staff Nurse is also expected to be available for other programs when consultation is required on difficult or complicated situations, and may also provide direct services to clients. Additionally, the duties of this position include:
Providing oversight and audits to ensure the Division’s Medication Rooms meet federal and state mandates
Training for nursing staff
Developing and maintaining policies and procedures related to nursing and medication support services
Overseeing pickup and disposal of medical waste
Facilitating meetings of nursing staff
Conducting employee performance reviews and hiring processes
Providing support and guidance to Division staff on nursing-related issues
Creating the staffing schedule to ensure nursing staff coverage at the CSU and Adult Medication Clinic
License: Possession of a valid California license as a Registered Nurse, as required by Title 22, current CPR certification.
