Switzer Learning Center is looking for a Part-Time Bookkeeper to join the team.


POSITION SUMMARY
The Part-Time Bookkeeper will report to the Director of Finance. This role assists the Director of Finance with general accounting and business management activities. The Bookkeeper is responsible for assisting the maintenance of accounting systems, financial policies, and related procedures. This position also helps implement accurate compiling, recording, reporting, invoicing, A/P, A/R, and retention of accounting and development department data. They will also be responsible for all supporting documentation including financial and development records related to donations, grants, and contracts.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Work 20-25 hours per week (hybrid possible).
· Perform basic accounting functions (A/R, A/P, G/L, etc.) in QuickBooks
· Reconcile bank statements
· Close monthly and quarterly ending records and financial reports
· Collect receipts for all credit card and store accounts and match them to statements
· Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements and audit preparation
· Contract and bid reviews
· Keep financial records and supporting documents up to date and retained appropriately
· Utilizes CRM filesharing systems to keep up-to-date information and track progress
· Perform other duties as assigned


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
· Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field or must have a high school diploma and at least two years of relevant work experience. Course work including Intermediate Accounting preferred.
· Training and Experience Requirements (licenses, certificates, etc.): N/A

Knowledge Requirements:
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel
· Strong knowledge of QuickBooks
· Basic knowledge in data entry and/or CRM database management

Experience:
· Successful performance for two years in relevant role
· CRM database experience

Skills:
· Success in the role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, project management skills, and time management skills
· Intermediate computer and typing skills, and 10-key calculator
· Financial/numerical database experience (QuickBooks experience is a must)
· Possesses interpersonal skills to interact with potential donors and the general public
· Attention to detail
· Ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects with little direction
· Follow-up on all assignments with appropriate supervisor
· Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Abilities:
· Multi-task oriented
· Follow verbal and written directions
· Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and to maintain discretion and confidentiality
· Exceptional planning and organizational skills

Additional Employment Requirements:
·High School/College transcripts upon request
· Live-scan fingerprints for California Department of Justice clearance
· Tuberculosis (TB) clearance results certified within the last 60 days
· Acceptable documentation to complete Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification
· Current California Driver’s License or State-issued ID

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
· $20-$22 per hour (depending on experience).
