As an Inventory Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, analyzing inventory data, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory processes and contribute to the financial success of our company.
Duties:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform regular reconciliations of physical inventory to the financial records.
• Monitor and analyze inventory levels, identifying discrepancies and variances.
• Collaborate with the procurement and warehouse teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of inventory transactions.
• Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control procedures and policies.
• Prepare inventory-related reports and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Assist in the identification and resolution of inventory-related issues and recommend process improvements.
• Stay updated on accounting regulations and industry trends related to inventory accounting.
Qualifications/Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Inventory Accountant or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, especially related to inventory.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel and SAP experience.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems is a plus.
This is a long term temporary assignment that is remote
$36.00-$40.00 per hour DOE
