Job Summary:

Our children's art studio is seeking a dedicated and experienced Curriculum Coordinator and Lead Teacher to develop and implement curriculum for our Arts and STEM education programs. The Curriculum Coordinator and Lead Teacher will work closely with our teaching staff to ensure that our curriculum meets the needs of our students and aligns with current standards and best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement curriculum: Develop and implement comprehensive and engaging curriculum for our arts and STEM education programs including: Camps, classes, and enrichment programs - and one-off programs

  • Work with teaching staff to ensure that curriculum aligns with current standards and best practices.

  • Support teaching staff: Provide support to teaching staff in implementing curriculum. Provide resources, training, and feedback on a regular basis. Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure that all classes are effective and engaging.

  • Evaluate curriculum: Evaluate curriculum effectiveness through ongoing assessment and feedback from teaching staff and students. Use feedback to make improvements to the curriculum and ensure that it meets the needs of our students.

  • Meet program deadlines and communicate program updates to staff, teaching artists and Programs Coordinator.

  • Manage program materials: Creating materials list for programs, managing overall program budgets to stay within project scope.

  • Coordinate with Programs Coordinator and Studio Assistant Coordinator to gather and pack materials, art supplies, and equipment. Order new materials as needed and maintain accurate inventory records.

  • Participate in staff meetings: Participate in staff meetings and training to stay informed about studio policies and procedures, and to provide input and feedback on curriculum development and implementation.

  • Lead classes: Lead classes as a primary instructor or substitute as needed. Ensure that classes are effective, engaging, and aligned with the studio's curriculum.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in curriculum development and implementation.

  • Ability to work independently and proactively with little or no supervision.

  • Strong understanding of current art education standards and best practices.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and with diverse groups of people.

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting.

  • Familiarity with Google Suite, Notion, and Slack.

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
