Description

Have you overcome opioid use disorder with suboxone, methadone, or naltrexone treatment? Become a Peer Leader!

Join UC Irvine's HARNESSING ONLINE PEER EDUCATION (HOPE) Opioid Study!

The UC Irvine HOPE Opioid study investigates how online social support tools like Facebook can help those affected by opioid addiction or struggling with opioids. Over the course of 12 weeks, peer leaders and participants will join a private, peer-led Facebook group. Peer leaders will try to engage with participants. Participants have the opportunity to request information about medication for opioid addiction, receive resources, and be referred to a virtual care provider.

Peer leaders attend three in-person training sessions on medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) at UC-Irvine (HOPE Study will pay mileage to trainings).

Peer leaders receive up to $480 in compensation.

Eligibility: Over 18 years old, resident of the Greater Los Angeles area (Counties: Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside), in recovery or treatment for opioid use disorder. Must have experience with methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone.
