We are currently hiring and have an immediate opening for a weekend Farmers Market Sales Associate. This person would work at our Saturday Ferry Building Farmers Market, and the Sunday Farmers Market at one of our two stops in San Francisco (TBD). Shifts begin with load-up at our factory in San Rafael, driving a company vehicle to markets, setup, sales and operation, tear down, driving back to the shop, and end-of-day breakdown at the factory. Shifts start at 5:30 am (Saturday), and 6:30 am (Sunday) respectfully at the factory store in San Rafael, and average around 9-10 hours depending on location.
All market shifts after training are worked solo / independently without other employees on site generally. Applicants with only one day availability will be considered, but we prefer to hire someone who can do both days. Candidates who are able to commit to the job for at least 6 months are ideal and will have priority in the hiring process.
Mill Valley Pasta Co. is a small but rapidly growing artisan pasta company located in the North Bay in San Rafael We currently sell our pasta at 8 different farmers markets, online, and at our small factory store.
Required:
- A valid US driver’s license and be comfortable driving a commercial cargo van (must be able to drive rented vehicles)
- Full fluent in everyday conversational English (being bilingual is a huge plus!)
- Must be able to legally work in the US (this job on the books!)
Applicants should be able to lift 40-50 lbs several times a day and drag coolers that may be up to 75 lbs (or be willing to ask the kind folks at the tent next to you to help you out, which they always do!).
Pay for this position starts at $24/hour with weekly personal pasta allowance, market barter allowance, and at least 2 sales bonus opportunities each day. Overtime as required legally for shifts over 8 hours.
