RE: CHESS COACH at City of Berkeley
RBA is currently looking for a committed Chess Coach for part time position at City of Berkeley. Applicants should have coaching experience and/or knowledge working with children ranging in ages from 5 to 14 years. The philosophy of RBA programs is to engage children in learning both sport-specific activities and life-skills, in a fun and positive atmosphere. Applicants must be able to embrace these ideas while providing strong leadership and commitment to program participants.
The position is a part time job for a college student or an adult who enjoys coaching kids. It is an enrichment program, from Fall 2023 year-round on Saturdays from 10:00am to 12/1:00pm, and camps during the school breaks. Must have a passion and be excellent with children. Good sense of humor, flexible, energetic, and with great self-management skills are all required. Many of the students are learning the activity for the first time. Coaches must provide their own transportation and to have the ability to transport themselves and the provided equipment to the location.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
