We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Security Officer to join our team at a prestigious college campus. As a Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include patrolling the campus, monitoring surveillance systems, responding to incidents, and enforcing campus policies. The ideal candidate is highly observant, possesses excellent communication skills, and is committed to ensuring the well-being of our college community.
Responsibilities:
Conduct regular patrols of the campus to deter and detect any suspicious activity
Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to potential security breaches
Maintain a visible and approachable presence, providing assistance and information to students, staff, and visitors
Enforce campus policies and regulations to ensure a safe and respectful environment
Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms
Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary
Assist with access control, ensuring authorized entry and securing sensitive areas
Conduct investigations into security incidents and prepare accurate incident reports
Provide crowd control and security during special events or emergencies
Stay up-to-date with campus safety protocols, emergency procedures, and relevant laws and regulations
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Security Officer, preferably in an educational or campus setting
Strong observational skills and the ability to quickly identify potential security risks
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse community
Ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations with professionalism
Knowledge of security systems, including surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control
Familiarity with emergency response procedures and first aid/CPR certifications
Understanding of legal and ethical responsibilities related to campus security
Basic computer skills for report writing and incident documentation
High school diploma or equivalent (additional education or training in security or law enforcement is a plus)
Valid security guard license or relevant certifications
