Two (2) years’ experience in food preparation and knowledge of therapeutic diets helpful
Experience in a health care setting would be helpful.
High School graduation or a G.E.D. equivalent
Experience in the use of institutional kitchen equipment such as steam tables, gas stoves, refrigerators, and freezers
The ability to read, write and speak English is essential, as is the willingness to work with clients recovering from serious mental illness.
Physical & TB clearance prior to employment
LIVE Scan Fingerprint Clearance (FBI/DOJ) and Background Check prior to employment
Able to provide I-9 documents and Work Authorization
• Reviews menus, work orders and recipes to determine the type and quantity of meals necessary to prepare
• Preparation, cooking and serving food to client. This includes seasoning and cooking meat, fish, vegetables, soups, salads and desserts; Prepares food for special therapeutic diets
• Directs the collection and assembly of food items from storage areas during the food preparation process
• Receives and monitors food deliveries against requisitions and invoices
• Ensures that the cleaning and maintenance program is consistently adhered to
