Cedars of Marin (www.cedarslife.org) provides day programs and residential opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. Cedars began in 1919, and for more than a century our person-centered programs and services have supported hundreds of clients in living creative, productive, joyous and healthy lives.

As a member of Cedars Health and Wellness team, you will display caring, professionalism, excellent communication skills, sensitivity, and flexibility as you help to meet the medical needs of Cedars residents. You will accompany individuals to medical appointments and maintain their medical data. You will work closely with other staff in supporting the health and wellness of our clients. This work is fun, creative, fulfilling, and challenging!

Essential Functions:
1. Maintain medical database and perform data entry.
2. Email health and behavior notes to the appropriate staff on weekly basis.
3. Prepare detailed files in advance of appointments.
4. Schedule appointments as required.
5. Transport residents to doctor and other healthcare appointments.
6. Respond to drop-in health concerns, injuries, illnesses, and emergencies.
7. Maintain cleanliness of the Health and Wellness offices and area.
8. Administer medication.
9. Triage phone calls concerning residents' medical concerns, and contact appropriate professionals.
10. Communicate with pharmacies and medical offices to ensure proper medication accuracy and documentation.
11. Communicate with family members, Cedars staff, and health care professionals.

General Qualifications: 
1. Experience in supporting adults with developmental disabilities is strongly desired.
2. Desire to help others achieve their full potential.
3. Medical background, skills, and terminology is a plus. 
4. Ability to think ahead and take initiative.
5. English communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. The ability to drive a passenger van. Clean DMV record and valid CA driver's license.
7. Proficient in the use of email and the ability to learn a database.
8. CPR and First Aid certifications or the willingness to acquire both.
9. Ability to pass an occupational employment physical including a TB test, and meet the physical requirements of the job.
10. Ability to pass a criminal background check with the FBI and DOJ.
