Description

General practice law firm seeks an Independent Contractor Landlord/Tenant, Employment, Family and/or Civil Litigation Attorney for a part-time, remote-work position.

In addition to Employment Law, Family Law and/or Civil Litigation attorneys, we're also looking for attorneys that handle other areas of law such as: Bankruptcy, Real Estate (i.e., Property and/or HOA disputes as well as Contractor disputes), Estate Planning, Personal Injury, Immigration, Securities Law, Intellectual Property, Cyber Law, Conservatorships/Guardianships, Non-Profit Law, etc., etc.

You will be handling files from start to finish including through trial, if applicable. In addition to providing you with work, we offer support by way of administrative assistance, and we can assign other attorneys and/or paralegals/law clerks to assist you with your cases, if needed. We also conduct periodic case list reviews with you to make sure cases are moving along and to see if you need any further assistance.

Tasks include, but aren't limited to: client intake (i.e, evaluating potential cases on a regular basis and quoting fees to potential clients (primarily over the phone, but also via email), as well as handling cases through completion. Our staff handles everything else for you (i.e., the administrative tasks such as quoting services, collecting payment from clients, handling documents and filings, managing your calendar for you, etc.). We just want you to handle the initial consultation and work on cases from start to finish when assigned to you. Leave the administrative stuff to us. :)

You must be very personable, reliable, call potential clients/clients on time, know how to manage your time efficiently, and know how to work independently. We enjoy working together as a team, so a sense of humor is a plus. ;) Attorneys that have been with us for quite some time, and who are very successful, manage their time well and are able to function independently, efficiently and they're able to handle their caseload from start to finish without micromanagement. This is a work/life balance type of position. You will only work on cases you want to handle. You can stop receiving new matters to work on at any time.

Expectation is roughly 15-20 hours of work a week depending on the areas of law you handle and how many cases you'd like to take on. More or less work is available depending on your specific needs. If you don't have around 15-20 hours a week or so available, or if you do not have experience handling cases from start to finish and/or if you don’t like talking to potential clients, please do not apply.

This is a remote only position. You can work from home, your own office, and/or onsite at one of our locations depending on office/room availability. Working from home and/or your own office is preferred as long as it's in a professional environment (i.e. no dogs barking, kids playing or any other substantial noise in the background).

Please email your resume or CV for consideration. This is an attorney only position. Please do not apply if you're not a current California attorney in good standing with the California Bar.

Pay range is from $40hr - $150/hr depending on the case/task, with $40/hr limited to consultations and document reviews only, and actual case work-up averaging around $100/hr, but the rates vary depending on the case at hand. We also offer periodic bonuses based on performance.

Thank you for your time and consideration. If you believe you're the right candidate for this position, then we look forward to hearing from you. :)
