This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in Sonoma County! 13-time winner of “Best Places to Work”, O’Brien Watters & Davis LLP is looking for an associate attorney to join our Trusts and Estates attorneys. Come join our team in Santa Rosa!

The ideal candidate will have at least one years’ experience in trust and estate law, working with both modest and high net-worth clients. However, more experience is also welcome. This is a full-time position, with the opportunity to work with a variety of clients and cases. The associate will work closely with the firm’s business department which includes a certified estate planning attorney and a certified tax specialist. The firm encourages associates to participate in marketing and community engagement, and sets reasonable billable hour requirements. Responsibilities:
Meeting with existing and new clients regarding their estate planning needs
Advising clients regarding advanced estate planning including, structuring complex gift, estate and tax plans, family succession plans, and trust administrations
Drafting and reviewing estate planning documents
Assisting with probates and trust administration
Representing clients in court and in negotiations with opposing counsel
Building and maintaining relationships with clients and other professionals in the legal industry



Qualifications:
JD from an accredited law school
Admission to the California bar
1+ years’ experience in California trust and estate law
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong writing and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with case management software is a plus (Clio, Practice Panther, Hightail)
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) Outlook, and Adobe
Enjoy learning and taking on a challenge
Work well in a team setting
Ability to work on site
Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
